Luxembourg

It is rather difficult to measure small country Luxembourg and its capital for someone who has never been here. In Luxembourg, there are many monuments, among them especially attractive are feudal castles with high stone towers. There is a well known Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Luxembourg, decorated with numerous sculptures in the Renaissance. The city of Luxembourg located in the mountains is extremely picturesque. In a deep valley there are 67 ancient and modern bridges. You can make a cruise along the Moselle to view its picturesque valley, and visit the famous vineyards Remigio, Stadbredimusa, Pallemberga and Grevenmacher, and other rivers (Sur, Ur, Clairvaux, Welz) welcome to boat and yacht everyone as well.

Luxembourg was founded in 963, he was known as “Lyuklinburhuk” which means “little castle”. This small area is rich for a great variety of landscapes. Bus Tours across Luxembourg give an opportunity to see most of the attractions of this tiny European country in a short time.

The cultural attractions of the country are the National Museum of Luxembourg, where gathered the ancient and modern art, natural history of the country, the majestic Gothic cathedral of Notre Dame (XVII century.) Grand Ducal Palace (XVI century), City council (XIX century), Lock Esch-sur-Alzette (XIX cent.), as well as the medieval town of Rothenburg ob der Tauberg.

The capital of the country – the city of Luxembourg – was founded more than a thousand years ago. Luxembourg gives the impression of a beautiful, gentle and lively city. The hilly terrain, diverse architecture, bridges, cones of palaces and churches, parks, monuments, greens and bright flowers, buildings of different styles and periods – all this forms a contrasting and harmonious ensemble of the city. The Luxembourg has two rivers – the Alzette and Petrus, which divide the city into two parts: the upper city with the remnants of a mighty fortress, the ducal palace and the many ancient buildings, and the Low Town – new areas, industrial enterprises and agencies. Miralem Pjanic

Miralem Pjaniæ (born April 2, 1990 in Zvornik, Bosnia and Herzegovina) is a Bosnian football player who plays for FC Metz in France. He also plays for the Bosnian U21 national team. Pjaniæ played in the 2006 European U21 championship for Luxembourg, for which Luxembourg had qualified automatically as hosts. He scored Luxembourg’s only goal: a fantastic first time, long range, dipping effort lobbing Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo. In that same year a memorable game against Belgium ended 5-5 with Pjanic scoring 4 goals for Luxembourg. Pjaniæ is now a member of the U-19 Luxembourg team, but there remains considerable doubt over his future international career as the player has, as yet, not fully committed to putting on the Luxembourg shirt. His native country Bosnia-Herzegovina and his current footballing home France are showing keen interest in luring him to their respective national sides. In an interview for a bosnian newspaper Pjaniæ said that he only wants to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina. (31.8.2007) He has been added to the Bosnia Herzegovina U-21 squad as of September 27, 2007. It has been reported that various illustrious clubs in Europe have expressed interest in signing the young player (Schalke, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, AC Milan, PSV, Liverpool and Bayern Munich), however Pjaniæ has stated that he would like to stay on with his current club FC Metzand it remains to be seen when he will break into the first team after the promotion of FC Metz in Ligue 1 in
